# Haboob Run: The gas stations are shut. Draft to refuel.

An arcade road game for iPhone. **Coming soon to the App Store.**

A dust storm is rolling up the road behind your old hatchback, and the only fuel left is the air behind other cars. Drafting means tucking in close behind a car: ride its wake and the fuel needle climbs. Then swing out before the storm catches you.

**Free to play.** $2.99 once unlocks the Full Map.

## Every car on the road is a fuel pump

Short arcade runs for anyone who grew up on top-down road racers. One leg takes about a minute; a full trip, four or five.

- **Draft: ride the slipstream.** Slip in behind a car and you lock on and refuel: faster behind a long semi than a small hatch. The catch: you drive at its speed while the storm gains.
- **Brake lights: read the road.** Brake lights flash 0.6 seconds before a car slows, and blinkers come on before it changes lanes. Miss them and you rear-end the car you were drafting.
- **Slingshot: swing out on a full meter.** Draft long enough to fill the meter, pull out, and the Slingshot throws you past at 1.4× speed, clear of the storm.

## How it plays

The car drives itself. You steer, pick who to follow and decide when to leave.

1. **Steer.** Drag your thumb sideways. That's the whole control scheme.
2. **Tuck in.** Get behind a car. The fuel dial climbs while you ride its wake.
3. **Slingshot.** Swing out on a full draft meter for a burst of speed.
4. **Reach the stop.** Make the rest stop before the haboob reaches you.

## Pick your road

Each region is a map of four legs that forks twice, so there are four routes to Haven.

- **Shortcut: packed with traffic.** Shorter, with plenty of cars to draft and plenty to hit. Semis brake without much room.
- **Long way: open road, empty tank.** Longer and almost empty: you run fast, but nothing refuels you. Leave with a full tank.

Screens:

- Three regions: Amber Plains, Salt Flats, Rainbelt.
- Salt Flats: long gaps, ration your fuel.
- Rainbelt: puddles spin you out.
- Caught by the storm.

## Daily Road

Four legs built from the day's seed, each in one of the three regions, and the same road for everyone. No boosters allowed, so your best score is all driving. It's kept on your phone.

## Questions

### Are there ads?

No. There are no ads anywhere in Haboob Run and no ad-based rewards.

### Do I need an account or an internet connection?

No. The game plays fully offline. The network is used only by the App Store, to make or restore a purchase.

### What happens when I run out of fuel?

You coast down to a crawl. Drafting still refuels you, but at that speed the storm usually catches you first.

### What does a jerrycan do?

Tap it during a leg for +40 fuel, once per leg. Or, when the storm catches you, spend one on a Second Wind: the storm drops back 80 m and you get +30 fuel.

### Can I buy a better Daily Road score?

No. Boosters are switched off on the Daily Road.

### Does it run on iPad?

Haboob Run is made for iPhone, in portrait.

### I bought Full Map on another iPhone.

Open Settings on the home screen, or the Shop, and tap Restore Purchases.
