Tintwig icon: a cobalt chameleon on a twigTintwig

Every hatchling joins a family. Choose which.

Tintwig is a calm colour puzzle for iPhone. Chameleon families gather on the branches of one great tree, and the pale hatchlings take the colour of whichever family they join, for good. All 100 levels are free, with no ads.

A level in Tintwig: chameleons of five colours on the branches of a tree, a dock with Rewind, Sprout and Pluck

How it plays

  1. Tap a branch tip to lift the run of one colour.
  2. Tap a branch to send it there: an empty branch, the same colour, or a hatchling.
  3. When a whole family of 4 to 6 shares a branch, it curls its tails and climbs into the canopy. Clear the tree to finish the level.

What makes it Tintwig

Hatchlings that count

Each colour is short by exactly the hatchlings it needs. Send one into the wrong family and another stays short for good, so you plan before you tap.

A tree that grows as you climb

Eggs near the trunk hatch when they reach the tip. A closed bud opens into a new branch when the family of its colour leaves.

100 levels, five tiers

From the Roots through the Understory, the Mid Canopy and the High Canopy to the Crown. Clear a level at or under par to earn its gold leaf.

Tools when you need them

Rewind takes back a move, Sprout grows one more branch for the level, and Pluck lifts any chameleon, not only the one at a tip.
