How it plays

A few quiet minutes, one field at a time

A 7×7 Spring field: crop plots with hedgerow borders, two straw hives, crossed-out cells, stones showing 1 and 0, and the Almanac explaining the next step.

  • Tap, cross, place

    Tap a cell to cross it out. Tap a cross to place a hive. Drag to cross out a run of cells.

  • Three bees per field

    A hive in the wrong cell sends a bee away. Lose all three and the bees move on: start the field again.

  • An Almanac when you are stuck

    It explains the next deduction in plain words, three pages a day, free.

  • Logic, never luck

    Every field has exactly one solution, and you can reach it by reasoning alone. Fields run from 5×5 to 10×10 and take one to five minutes.

The rules

Four lines, then the field is yours

  1. Every plot (one coloured patch of the field) gets exactly one hive.

  2. No two hives share a row or a column.

  3. Hives never touch, not even at the corners.

  4. The twistA stone shows how many hives touch it.

A stone holds no hive. Its number counts the hives in the eight cells around it, corners included, and settles questions the other rules leave open.
