01How it plays

Four moves, one long run.

  1. 1

    Tap a pocket

You lift the group of same-number coins at its front.

  2. 2

    Tap where it goes

An empty pocket, or one whose front coin matches. A pocket holds ten; it takes what fits and the rest stays put.

  3. 3

    Ten of a kind merge

Ten coins of one number become five of the next. The first time you make a new number, those five fly into a locked pocket and open it.

  4. 4

    Deal!

New piles drop into up to three empty pockets, four once you have made a 6. No empty pocket, no deal: make room first.

There are no levels. The whole game is one run on one tray, saved after every move, from the first copper coin to the coin 12. Make the 12 and the tray is complete, with all fifteen pockets open.

Coin Cubby in play: a pocket of gold 3s is lifted, and the empty pockets and the pockets that can take gold coins are marked with amber corners.

The Tray complete screen: a dial of the twelve coin colours round a large sky-blue coin 12, the tray with every pocket open, and the run's 70 deals and 636 moves.

02Coins

Every coin tells the time.

Twelve coins, copper 1 to sky 12. Each one has a notch at its own hour on the rim: value × 30°. The 3 points right, the 6 points down, the 12 points straight up. Colour is never the only clue.

Coins behind the front one show only their reeded edge, so a stack of ten can be counted at a glance. Each pocket's front rail carries a ten-segment meter lit in the colours of the coins inside: ten lit segments of one colour means a merge.

  • Clover pocket

After every Deal, one pocket with coins gets a clover. Merge there before the next Deal and you get six coins instead of five.

  • Star coin from coin 5

A wild coin that sits on any stack and counts as the coins beside it when the pocket reaches ten.

  • Stones from coin 6

A Deal can drop a stone into an empty pocket and block it. Merge twice in a pocket next to it (left, right, front or back) and it cracks.

  • Face-down coins from coin 7

The back of a mixed pile can come face down. A coin flips over when it reaches the front.

  • Mission: merge in the clover pocket0/1

    Missions

A console line under the tray always has a small job: merge silver coins, merge twice before dealing, merge with a star coin, break the stone. Every three missions done pays a booster.

A later game: a star coin at the front of a pocket, a stone blocking the pocket next to it, a clover on another pocket, and the mission 'merge in the clover pocket'.
